Consistency is the mark of an experienced designer. But how do you stay consistent with projects coming and going, details getting fuzzy, and new designers hopping on projects in progress?
Once again, this is where we talk about CC Libraries in Photoshop.
Open up your document and select some type on the page. Then open your Library panel, and click the “A” at the bottom left. Then double-click the title and give it a name.
Now as you’re building out new pages, sections, or areas of your design, you can just click these styles to apply them to the text. Plus, these paragraph and character styles retain the original color as well.
The only potential downside is that they’re not actively linked to the type on your page. For example, if headings need to become light instead of bold, you’ll have to make a new style reflecting the lighter font weight, and then apply it to your headings.
Share type-styles with your team
Collaboration is one of the best parts of CC Libraries. When you’re all working on the same product or projects, it’s great to know everybody’s working from the same foundation.
To start sharing, click the menu icon at the top right of the Libraries panel and choose either Share Link… (read only) or Collaborate… (read/write), and follow the directions on the screen.
