Wildly popular in the 1920s and 1930s, the Art Deco style is most commonly associated with geometric shapes, bold colors, and glamorous decorations. Art Deco inspired designers to create things that were functional and beautiful.

Taking design elements from the the past and rearticulating your own version of them is a great creative exercise. So we’ve gathered gorgeous images taken around Miami Beach—a city whose aesthetic is a unique take on Art Deco, nicknamed Tropical Deco—for some lush visual inspiration.
